For more information about Security and Data Management, we’d first direct you to the Privacy Policy page on our website (https://www.hb-digital.com.au/privacy-policy), where you learn that Hawker Brownlow Digital uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to secure CARS & STARS Online with industry high-grade 256-bit encryption. This is to ensure that all data passed between our web server (Microsoft Azure, Australia) and user web browsers remain private and integral. Microsoft Azure, Australia conform with national requirements (Australia CCSL) governing the collection and use of individuals’ data.
Additionally, our data is securely stored with Microsoft Azure Australia in Melbourne and Sydney within Australia which provides encryption for data in motion using Transport Layer Security, for data at rest using Transparent Data Encryption, and for data in use using Always Encrypted. The geo-replication allows CARS & STARS Online to perform quick disaster recovery of individual databases in case of a regional disaster or large scale outage.
To further secure our data against an intruder, firewall rules have been created to prevent unauthorised passage to our database server. Azure Database, also participates in regular audits and has been certified against a number of compliance standards. For more information, see the Microsoft Azure Trust Center, where you can find the most current list of Azure Database compliance certifications.
Any student account that is not renewed after the subscription expires will be scheduled within 60-day to be permanently erased. Once the student account has been permanently deleted, it can no longer be recovered or restored.
