Some of my students' screens are frozen what do I do?
Encountering frozen browser issues is a frustrating situation, often with different causes and a number of corresponding solutions. You may advise your students to try the below solutions.
Try to restart the web browser or switch to another web browser. We recommend using either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome up-to-date version browser. If the issue persist, please try to do the following,
- Clear web browser caches and browsing history - keeping the web browser clear is a good preventative measure against various problems
- Ensure you are using the latest version of web browser - update the affected web browser.
- If your students are using the iPads, please make sure their device’s Operating System is the latest version.
- Free up memory: Their device may have run out of memory, and can't load the site while also running the other apps, extensions, and programs.
- Close every tab except for the one that’s showing the error message.
- Quit other apps or programs that are running, and pause any app or file downloads.
- Uninstall unnecessary extensions from the web browser.
Your student can also use the link provided below to check that their computer or tablet meets CARS & STARS Online's system requirements. Accessing CARS & STARS Online may not work without meeting these system requirements.
